Naturalist Notes for the week of June 14

Summer’s in full swing with daytime highs in the 80’s, still cooling off at night. It’s a fantastic time to see dozens of fish sitting on spawning beds in Cedar Creek. Also watch for impressively B – I – G tadpoles, sunning themselves in the shallows as they rapidly approach adulthood.

What’s Blooming : Marsh marigold, White snakeroot, Ox-eye Daisy, Fleabane Daisy

This Week’s Super Sleuth : A shout out to Jacob, aged 11, and his way cool Grandparents. You all hiked everywhere on property and observed everything! Jacob, thanks for your awesome questions and positive energy and Grandad, thanks so much for your information about raising honeybees.
